London, 4 March 2020 - Draper Esprit, a leading venture capital firm investing in and developing high growth digital technology businesses, announces the appointment of entrepreneur and venture capitalist Christoph Hornung as an Investment Director. Christoph will join the team with a focus on consumer internet, financial services, and online marketplaces.
Most recently, Christoph was CEO of a digital platform managing fan data in the Sports & Entertainment industry. He successfully managed the international roll-out of his business and received investment from DICP. Christoph was previously an Investment Manager for SevenVentures, a venture capital firm, where he focused on strategic investments in lifestyle and digital commerce businesses.
He also worked at Rocket Internet, a European incubator and investment company based in Berlin. Christoph played a significant role in the roll-out of The Iconic and the Lazada Group. The Iconic is an Australia-based ecommerce business, which is part of the Global Fashion Group. Lazada Group is a South-East-Asian ecommerce company, which was acquired for $4bn by Alibaba. Christoph has an Msc in Management from Cass Business School in London, and a Diploma in International Business from Munich Business School.
His appointment forms part of Draper’s plans to build an executive team to support the Group’s growth internationally, building out its sector and regional depth.
