On Wednesday 11th, February we hosted our annual Investor Day at the Ham Yard Hotel in London together for a day of discussion, reflection, and insights.
This year’s gathering was a special one, marking 20 years since Molten Ventures was founded and 10 years as a publicly listed company. It was a wonderful moment to celebrate how far we’ve come and look ahead to where innovation and investment are taking us next.
Kicking off the day, CEO Ben Wilkinson shared an overview of Molten’s progress, achievements, and priorities for the future; reflecting on the firm’s evolution and our continued commitment to backing Europe’s most ambitious founders.
Principal, Phoebe Kitchen followed with a session on the investment landscape in European venture capital, exploring the opportunities shaping the region’s next decade. From resilient founders to emerging sectors, Phoebe highlighted why Europe remains one of the most exciting ecosystems for innovation and long‑term growth.
Two of our Partners presented their latest perspectives on the opportunities driving innovation in Europe’s key sectors.
Partner, George Chalmers discussed his thesis on energy and industrial technology, focusing on technologies driving low‑carbon economy, boosting industrial efficiency, and enabling infrastructure at scale.
Partner, Inga Deakin shared her thesis on the data layer powering healthcare, focusing on technologies across Patients, People, and Pharma. Her approach targets data and software solutions that enhance outcomes, improve healthcare delivery, and drive the future of digital health.
Our own Nicola McClafferty hosted a panel discussion on AI featuring Max Bautin from Connect Ventures, Pietro Bezza from IQ Capital, and Audrey Miller from Tapestry. The panel explored how investors are navigating the balance between AI hype and real‑world value, and what the evolving landscape means for founders and investors alike.
Co‑Founder and Director, Stuart Chapman, took us on a journey through Molten’s history, reflecting on how the firm and the European venture ecosystem has evolved over the past two decades. It was a timely reminder of the long‑term vision, relationships, and resilience that underpin sustainable venture investing.
